I’m not saying I don’t like it and don’t find it charming, but what exactly is the significance of Girl Talk in general? He’s like appropriating the ready-made movement for pop music? Except that sometimes there’s non-pop music in there, correct? I like it, but I can’t tell if I like it because it all works together as a seamless collage or if it’s just like, “oooooh, i recognize that song!”.

I guess both are fine. Also, this video is kind of joyous. I think Ben’s friend Cassie is in it and she is dancing VERY INTENSELY in the beginning. it’s very intimidating. I like to imagine the thoughts going through her head during the choreographed scene and I like to imagine it’s like, “And one and two and kick and one and two but with meaning if i stop we will all die….” I think the fact that I wouldn’t be able to get outside my own head long enough to dance speaks to how horrible of a dancer I am.
